For the second time since leaving San Antonio, Virginia Davidson and Greg Kidd this week drove a rented van more than 2,000 miles south from their new home in Connecticut to the Alamo City, where they hope to sustain a mission of collecting rescued stray dogs and delivering them to no-kill shelters in the Northeast that abound with space.
A pet can brighten your life with companionship, laughter and love. And if you choose a furry friend that has been saved by a volunteer rescue group, you'll have the added satisfaction of knowing you're providing an "orphan" with a permanent home.
