SNAP clinics scheduled

Cats and dogs can be spayed and neutered free or at low cost at Spay-Neuter Assistance Program clinics.

Animals must be at least 4 months old. Pets should not be given food or water after 10 p.m. the night before surgery.

The van will open at 7:30 a.m. with service on a first-come, first-served basis. Pets belonging to individuals on government assistance will receive the service free. To learn the price schedule for others, call (210) 673-7722.

Today: South Park Mall, 2310 S.W. Military Drive. SNAP will be parked in front of Chili’s.

Thursday: H-E-B Las Palmas, 721 Castroville Road at General McMullen Drive. The van will be near the gas station for this clinic offering free sterilization surgery paid for by an Animal Care Services grant. Rabies shots cost $10.

July 6: H-E-B, 6580 FM 78 at Foster Road. The van will be near the gas station for this clinic offering free sterilization surgery and rabies shots for pets belonging to individuals with military ID. Funded by the Hollomon-Price Foundation.

July 8: South Park Mall, 2310 S.W. Military Drive, in front of Chili’s. Free spay/neuter surgery paid for by an ACS grant. Rabies shots, $10, will be required unless current rabies certificate is shown at intake.
