Pet parade

The National Council of Jewish Women will host a Purim Pet Parade from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on March 1 at the Barshop Jewish Community Center, 12500 N.W. Military Hwy.

The fundraiser will benefit the Animal Defense League of Texas and other dog- and cat-welfare organizations.

A costumed pet parade, prizes, food and face painting will be among the attractions.

Purim is the most festive of Jewish holidays, and costumes traditionally are part of the celebration.

Cost is $5 in advance or $7 at the door. Call (210) 479-9316.
